MAN eTGM Electric Truck Launched, Capable of 480 km Range on a Single Charge
In an effort to accelerate the transformation of the transportation sector toward zero emissions, MAN Truck & Bus has officially introduced the MAN eTGM at the prestigious Transpotec Logitec 2026 commercial vehicle exhibition in Milan. This launch solidifies MAN’s position as a leading German provider of comprehensive electric commercial vehicle solutions for various industrial needs.
The introduction of this 16-ton electric truck marks an important milestone, as it successfully completes MAN’s electric truck portfolio, which now fully covers a weight range from 12 to 50 tons.
This latest truck is specifically designed to meet the challenges of urban and regional distribution transport. It offers exceptional operational flexibility with a permitted gross vehicle weight of 16.01 tons, and even up to 16.5 tons as an option.
In terms of payload capacity, the MAN eTGM provides significant reserves with a chassis payload of approximately 10.6 tons. Additionally, the electric truck can handle trailer operations with a gross combination weight of up to 33 tons.
The technical excellence of the MAN eTGM is based on MAN’s cross-series modular technology concept, which has already been proven in the heavier electric models such as the eTGX and eTGS.
The heart of this electric truck is the MAN eCD210 electric drive unit, which delivers 210 kW (equivalent to 285 hp) and a maximum instantaneous torque of 800 Nm.
This power is paired with the MAN TipMatic 2 transmission and a high-performance recuperation system that ensures optimal energy efficiency, especially in stop-and-go city traffic conditions.
The energy storage system uses a highly adaptable modular battery setup, consisting of two to four battery packs with a total usable capacity of up to 320 kWh.
This configuration enables an impressive operational range of up to 480 km, which is more than sufficient for food logistics, supermarket deliveries, municipal operations such as waste collection, and light construction tasks.
Another standout advantage in the competitive market is the mechanical power take-off shaft (mPTO), which allows easy installation of various body designs without complicated modifications.
Economically, operating the MAN eTGM offers strategic benefits for transport companies through significant emission reductions, as well as advantages from special EV toll schemes available across various European markets.
