Tangerang Regency's Logo Will Be Changed Soon, Effective October 2026

Tangerang - The Tangerang Regency Government is preparing to change its regional logo and emblem. The process has now reached the completion of the academic manuscript. The target is for the change to be officially established through a Regional Regulation (Perda) before October 2026.

This was conveyed by the Head of the Government Administration Section (Tapem) of the Tangerang Regency Secretariat, Ahmad Hapid, to the media. He explained that the preparation of the academic manuscript for the change of the regional emblem does not stand alone. The document must be integrated as a single unit with the Regional Hymn and March, as stipulated in Government Regulation (PP) Number 77 of 2007 concerning Regional Emblems.

“So it’s not just the regional emblem in the academic manuscript. Everything must be a unified whole that forms the logo and emblem of the region. That was what previously caused the preparation of the academic manuscript to take a long time. Now it is finished, and we just need to present it to the leadership,” he explained on April 27, 2026.

Although the academic manuscript has been completed, Ahmad Hapid acknowledged that there are still obstacles regarding the copyright of the Tangerang Regency Hymn and March. The composer of the March and Hymn is Iyan Sofyan Wiradinata, better known as Yans Wiradinata. He is the musician who created the works in 1987, which were later officially established through Regional Regulation Number 7 of 1991.

“Regarding the numerical notation and royalties for the regional March and Hymn, there are indeed still obstacles. The question is whether they should be included in the draft Regional Regulation or handled through a Regent Regulation. This is still our homework,” he said.

Nevertheless, Ahmad Hapid emphasized that the draft regulation on the change of the logo and regional emblem must be approved before October 13, 2026.

“So that coincides with the anniversary of Tangerang Regency, and the Regional Regulation must also be completed by then. That is our target,” he asserted.

It is known that the change to the logo and regional emblem is motivated by the shift in the commemoration date of Tangerang Regency’s anniversary from December 27 to October 13.

This shift is based on historical evidence of the formation of Tangerang under the mandate of the Sultanate of Banten to three Arias: Aria Wangsakara, Aria Yudhanegara, and Aria Santika.

The three were granted authority to establish government in the Cisadane River region.
