Mider Local Marketplace from Kudus to Revive "Pasar Kliwon"
In an effort to revive the economic activity of Pasar Kliwon which has recently become increasingly quiet, a group of creative young people from Kudus Regency launched a digital platform called Mider.
This application is an acronym for Mobile Rider, which is designed as a digital catalog of Pasar Kliwon products, as well as a local marketplace to bridge traders and buyers in traditional markets.
With Mider, people can now see and buy various needs from Pasar Kliwon without having to come directly to the location.
This platform not only makes it easier to access shopping, but is also the first step towards digitizing traditional markets. The Mider application is already available and can be downloaded via the Playstore for Android devices.
Mider CEO, Muhammad Bisri, said that the idea to create this platform came from his concern about the condition of Pasar Kliwon which is increasingly losing visitors. He hopes that Mider can be a solution for thousands of market traders.
"This platform will help improve the economy in Pasar Kliwon. All products can be seen and purchased from home through the application," he said when interviewed.
Wednesday afternoon, 5/21/2025, Bisri introduced Mider directly to the Regent of Kudus, Sam’ani Intakoris. He hopes that the Kudus Regency Government can fully support this initiative so that it can develop and reach more traditional markets in Kudus.
Different from large e-commerce platforms, Mider is local and only focuses on Pasar Kliwon as a pilot project. This concept allows for a more personal and relevant approach to local needs.
“Pasar Kliwon is the first step. In the future, we want Mider to be present in 25 other traditional markets in Kudus. Each will have its own digital platform,” said Bisri.
This platform has features like a regular marketplace. Traders can upload product photos, list prices, and manage their stores independently from home.
For delivery of goods, Mider has partnered with local drivers called Mider Riders, who will act as couriers to consumers.
Currently, more than 2,000 traders have expressed their willingness to join the platform. The introduction process has been carried out in collaboration with the trader association in Kudus.
"This is the result of discussion and collaboration. Hopefully Mider will be a new way to revive the traditional market economy," Bisri concluded.
Meanwhile, Kudus Regent, Sam'ani Intakoris, expressed his appreciation for the innovation initiated by local youth. He called Mider a creative and relevant solution in answering current economic challenges.
"We will test and evaluate together. Hopefully, in the future Mider can be a bridge between sellers and buyers," he said.
