The Yonzipur 1/DD Jihandak Team Sterilizes Saudi Arabian Airlines SVA 5688 Aircraft at Kualanamu Airport
Deli Serdang — The Yonzipur 1/DD Jihandak Team was deployed to sterilize the Saudi Arabian Airlines SV5688 plane that made an emergency landing at Kualanamu Airport, Friday (6/21/2025), following a report of a bomb threat in flight.
Led by Second Lieutenant Czi Suyono, the sterilization was carried out immediately after the plane stopped. The inspection targeted all parts of the interior, starting from the cockpit, business and economy class cabins, galley, crew rest, toilet, to the luggage compartment above and below the passenger seats.
The inspection was carried out systematically and thoroughly by the Jihandak Team, using explosives detection equipment and mirror scopes to reach hidden areas such as under the seats, storage gaps, luggage racks, and technical panels. Throughout the activity, tight security was carried out by fully armed Brimob personnel around the aircraft location.
This sterilization is part of the standard procedure of the I/Bukit Barisan Military Command in dealing with terror threats at vital national objects. The quick action of the Yonzipur 1/DD Jihandak Team was carried out at the request of Kualanamu Airport security officers and in coordination with TNI-Polri elements.
Kapendam I/Bukit Barisan, Colonel Inf Asrul Kurniawan Harahap, emphasized that this quick action showed solid synergy between the TNI, Polri, and airport authorities in facing real threats to flight safety. "Kodam I/BB will continue to be at the forefront of maintaining regional stability," he said.
After being declared safe, the aircraft was returned to the airport authorities for further processing. Security around the location remains tight as an anticipatory measure. (Red)
