FAW LN 4×4 Truck Officially Assembled in Indonesia – Here Are Its Advantages

A strategic move has been made by Chinese commercial vehicle manufacturer FAW Trucks to strengthen its position in the Indonesian automotive market.

Through its long-standing partnership with PT Gaya Makmur Mobil (GMM), its main distributor since 2005, FAW has now made history by successfully assembling the first locally built LN 4×4 truck at its Indonesian Knock-Down (KD) production facility.

This achievement is not merely a ceremonial launch of a new unit, but a concrete proof of successful technology transfer and the enhancement of local manufacturing capabilities in line with FAW’s global quality standards.

The assembly plant in Indonesia was built according to FAW Trucks’ strict integrated manufacturing standards. The process involves an efficient synergy system covering component imports, vehicle assembly, and thorough quality control.

Close collaboration between local technicians and global experts ensures that every truck rolling off the production line has specifications and durability identical to those produced at FAW’s headquarters.

The LN 4×4 truck, known domestically by the model code FAW DD130CG, is a light-to-medium category truck equipped with capable technical specifications for heavy-duty operations.

It is powered by a YC4D130-3 diesel engine with a 4,214 cc capacity, delivering a maximum power of 130 hp at 2,800 rpm and peak torque of 420 Nm at 1,400–1,800 rpm.

Power is transmitted through a 6-speed WLY6T115 transmission designed to provide optimal traction across various terrains. The toughness of the DD130CG model is further highlighted by its 4×4 drivetrain configuration.

As a four-wheel-drive truck, it is equipped with wheel lock and inter-axle differential lock features, ensuring maximum grip when traversing slippery or muddy roads.

With a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) of 7,600 kg (7.6 tons) and balanced axle load distribution, the truck is claimed to have a gradeability of up to 65%.

The braking system uses a dual-circuit air pressure brake (air brake) equipped with spring energy parking brakes to ensure safety when carrying heavy loads in hilly areas.

In terms of dimensions, the FAW DD130CG is available in two overall length options: 5,960 mm and 6,860 mm, with wheelbase options adjustable between 3,300 mm and 3,800 mm according to body requirements.

The successful local production of the DD130CG marks FAW Trucks’ commitment to providing transportation solutions that are not only technically strong and reliable, but also efficient and suitable for Indonesia’s rapidly growing market.
