Gunung Harta PO Bus Releases New Merak-Denpasar Route

Bali-based bus company Gunung Harta is once again delighting land transportation enthusiasts and tourists with the expansion of its latest route network.

Starting May 21, 2026, the company — known for its distinctive red fleet — officially launches its longest AKAP (inter-city inter-provincial) route, running from the western tip of Java Island to the Island of the Gods: Merak (Banten) – Denpasar (Bali) and return (PP).

This strategic move is a direct response to high public demand for convenient cross-island travel without the hassle of switching transportation modes.

Connecting Merak Port in Banten to Denpasar in Bali, the route covers an impressive distance of approximately 1,200 to 1,300 km and is estimated to take around 26 to 30 hours.

Even though the journey takes more than a day, Gunung Harta PO guarantees that passenger comfort remains the top priority throughout the Trans-Java route and into Bali.

To serve this route, Gunung Harta is deploying its Executive-class fleet. With a 2-2 seat configuration and a total of 30 seats, the spacious legroom ensures passengers stay comfortable and don’t tire easily during the long trip.

Premium facilities have also been added inside the cabin to enhance comfort, including reclining seats, USB charging ports, clean toilets usable while the bus is moving, and complimentary meals at selected rest areas.

For those interested in trying this new route, here are the official departure schedules released by Gunung Harta PO management, both from Merak and Denpasar:

Departures from Merak (WIB)

The bus will pick up passengers in the Banten area from morning at several main agent points:
