PO Aerobus Transport Launches New Pekanbaru Bandung Route with Double-Decker Buses
Following the announcement of its new double-decker bus fleet addition, Perusahaan Otobus (PO) Aerobus Transport has immediately opened a new intercity interprovincial (AKAP) route from Pekanbaru to Bandung. The new AKAP route, scheduled to begin operations in mid-May 2026, is equipped with premium facilities to ensure greater passenger comfort during the long journey.
The planned pick-up and drop-off points for this new route will pass through Jambi, Palembang, Lampung, and Jakarta, with Bandung as the final destination.
Before the route officially begins operations, PO Aerobus Transport plans to conduct a road test to assess road conditions and gather feedback from passengers who participate. Those interested in experiencing the journey from Pekanbaru to Bandung (or the return trip) can book tickets through the official website aerobus.co.id or by contacting Aerobus agents and ticket counters.
Previously, PO Aerobus Transport boldly released eight new double-decker buses featuring the Skylander R22 body built by New Armada, a coachbuilder based in Magelang, Central Java.
These eight new buses are mounted on Volvo B11R 450 chassis. The upper deck uses standard 2-2 seating configuration and retains the same color and livery as previous models.
As these are double-decker buses, both the upper and lower sections of the windshield are fitted with iron grilles to protect the glass from branches or stones thrown by irresponsible individuals on the road.

According to information from New Armada’s official Instagram account, the eight buses use the Skylander R22 body as per the customer’s specifications.
New Armada Sales Consultant, Nirbowo Herlambang, revealed that the new double-decker buses for PO Aerobus Transport still use the same cabin design as the previous batch, featuring three different seat models.
“The interior cabin of PO Aerobus Transport’s new double-decker buses remains the same as those released previously,” Herlambang said on Wednesday (29/4/2026).
He added that for the AKAP service, the lower deck is equipped with two sleeper seats, followed by large 1-1 passenger seats. The upper deck uses a standard 2-2 seating configuration. The buses also maintain the same color scheme and livery as the earlier models.
