PO Efisiensi Releases Latest Jetbus 5 Fleet with Hino RM 280 Chassis
PT Efisiensi Putra Utama, better known as PO Efisiensi, has once again demonstrated its presence in the land transportation industry by releasing its latest bus units. The new fleet was officially launched from the renowned Malang-based body manufacturer, Adi Putro, to strengthen its intercity interprovincial (AKAP) bus services.
The arrival of these new units brings fresh excitement for loyal customers, especially on the flagship routes of this Kebumen-based company, which has strong roots in Central Java.
The bus features a modern and elegant Jetbus 5 SHD body. One of the most striking updates — and currently a popular trend — is the use of a single-piece windshield (single glass).
Unlike the double-glass trend that was once widespread, the single windshield provides a much wider, unobstructed view for front-row passengers while giving the bus a cleaner and more minimalist exterior appearance.
The bus is finished in PO Efisiensi’s signature turquoise green color, combined with orange and yellow graphic accents and a two-tone white upper section, creating a strong visual identity on the road.
This latest fleet has been specifically prepared to serve the Cilacap – Yogyakarta via YIA (Yogyakarta International Airport) route. Designed for high comfort standards, the bus clearly displays its route on the front windshield sticker.
Inside the cabin, passengers are treated to 2-2 reclining seats equipped with seat belts for every passenger, ensuring safety and comfort throughout the journey.
To keep passengers entertained, the bus is equipped with LED TVs and a water dispenser for hydration. Safety is also prioritized with the installation of multiple CCTV cameras inside the vehicle.
One of the standout technical advantages of this unit is its very spacious baggage capacity. The “through” baggage design (accessible from both the right and left sides) is made possible by the use of the Hino RM 280 ABS space frame chassis.
This chassis is specially designed for long-distance buses that require large underfloor storage space, making it ideal for passengers carrying lots of luggage or cargo/packages.
On the mechanical side, the Hino RM 280 ABS not only offers ample space but also maximum comfort through air suspension on all axles. This technology ensures a smooth and plush ride even on uneven road surfaces. Additionally, the Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) helps prevent wheel lock-up during sudden braking, especially on slippery roads.
The bus is powered by a J08E-WD 6-cylinder inline diesel engine with a capacity of 7,684 cc, producing 280 horsepower at 2,500 rpm and peak torque of 833 Nm at 1,500 rpm.
Power is delivered through a 7-speed manual transmission, providing a strong yet efficient performance — perfectly in line with the renowned name of this bus company.
