"Through this activity, participants are expected to be able to better understand and recognize the benefits of palm oil, and be able to make home-based products with palm oil materials and waste," he said in his speech, on Tuesday (May 27, 2025).

On the same occasion, Head of BPDP's UKMK Division, Helmi Muhansah, explained that although Jepara is not a palm oil producing area, its people still have a close relationship with the downstream palm oil industry.
"In Jepara, around 87% of food products and daily necessities around us contain palm oil elements. This shows that palm oil is very close to people's lives, even outside the producing areas," he explained.
"MSMEs in Jepara have a great opportunity to partner with BPDP, as long as the products produced are palm oil-based. This workshop is a strategic initial step to introduce the manufacture of palm oil products, including from its waste. Various innovations in palm oil products were also introduced, ranging from helmets made from palm fiber, palm batik, ink, bioasphalt, to aircraft fuel," added Helmi.
This activity, said Helmi, is certainly very beneficial for MSMEs in the region. "We hope that it can be applied and innovated as a form of improving the welfare of SMEs in Jepara, thank you to BPDP and LPP Polytechnic for having Jepara as one of the locations for palm oil SME product activities," he concluded.
For example, one example of a successful palm oil SME partnership is the export of palm fronds by alumni of the BPDP business incubation program. This is a great opportunity for SMEs in Jepara to create innovative and highly competitive products.
