Air Force Chief of Staff Accompanies Indonesian President and Defense Minister to Attend Bastille Day 2025
Air Force Chief of Staff (Kasau), Air Marshal M. Tonny Harjono, S.E., M.M., accompanied the President of the Republic of Indonesia, General (Ret.) Prabowo Subianto, and the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Indonesia, Lieutenant General (Ret.) Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, to attend Bastille Day 2025 at Place de la Concorde, Paris, Monday (July 14, 2025).
The Bastille Day commemoration is a significant moment in strengthening bilateral relations between Indonesia and France, while also affirming Indonesia's position as a strategic partner in defense cooperation. This year also marks 75 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries, which have been fostered through military education, the defense industry, and strategic dialogue.
Indonesia was honored to appear as the state guest at the Bastille Day military parade. A total of 451 personnel, consisting of Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) soldiers and Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and Indonesian National Police (Polri) cadets, participated. Of these, 87 Indonesian Air Force (TNI AU) soldiers and 37 Air Force Academy (AAU) cadets participated.
The troops marched along the Avenue des Champs-Élysées to the accompaniment of the song "Maju Tak Gentar," showcasing the spirit and discipline of Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) soldiers before French President Emmanuel Macron and other state guests.
Bastille Day 2025 was also attended by TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto, S.E., M.Si., and several other TNI officials.
