Fleet Command II Discusses Preparations for KRI Brawijaya's Voyage from Italy
The Commander of Fleet Command II, Rear Admiral I Gung Putu Alit Jaya, led a meeting to outline the operational readiness plan for the KRI Brawijaya-320's voyage from Italy to Indonesia.
In his virtual presentation in Surabaya on Wednesday (July 16), the Commander of KRI Brawijaya-320, Navy Colonel John David Nalasakti Sondakh, explained three key priorities in preparing for the offshore patrol vessel (OPV)'s voyage.
"This explanation covers technical readiness, operational routes, and logistical support for the upcoming crossing mission," said the Head of the Information Department (Kadispen) of Fleet Command II, Navy Colonel Antonius Februar Prima Hadi, in a statement from the Information Department of Fleet Command II, quoted on Thursday (July 17).
In addition, the Commander of Fleet Command II also received a presentation from the Commander of KRI I Gusti Ngurah Rai-332, Navy Colonel (P) Fadhlon, regarding preparations for the joint exercise between the Indonesian Navy and the Thai Navy, Sea Garuda 22AB-25.
"This joint exercise is part of international military cooperation involving naval elements from Fleet Command II and the Thai Navy, with a focus on improving interoperability and tactical capabilities for joint maritime operations," he continued.
Previously, Sea Garuda, held biennially by the Indonesian Navy and the Thai Navy, was held in Surabaya, East Java, in June 2023.
At that time, the Indonesian Navy deployed KRI RE Martadinata-331, one MPA CN-235 aircraft, one Panther helicopter, and a Marine Corps team.
Meanwhile, the Thai Navy deployed the warship HTMS Bhumibol Adulyadej, a Thai Marine Corps team, an anti-submarine squadron team, a distinction visitor, and one flag officer on board. (AT-IDM)
