Banten Deputy Governor Pushes for Technology Utilization to Accelerate Public Services
Banten - Deputy Governor of Banten Achmad Dimyati Natakusumah emphasized the importance of implementing technology in bureaucratic services and basic public sectors to improve efficiency and service speed.
Dimyati delivered the statement after opening the 6th Anniversary (Dies Natalis) of the Faculty of Science and Technology at Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin State Islamic University (UIN) Banten, on Monday (4/5/2026).
On the occasion, Dimyati also released dozens of fish and made a symbolic brush stroke to mark the opening of the anniversary series of events.
“The core of all this is how current technological advancements can bring benefits to the wider community, and this can start from this faculty,” he said.
According to him, strengthening the culture of research and innovation in science and technology must continue. The Faculty of Science and Technology is considered to have a strategic role in producing superior and adaptive human resources (HR) in line with the times.
“So that this increasingly rapid technological progress can be matched and have a positive impact on the lives of Banten’s people, ranging from improvements in agricultural technology, industry, medicine, transportation, and information technology,” he said.
Meanwhile, Vice Rector I of UIN Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin Banten, Nana Jumhana, stated that the establishment of the faculty is an important milestone in the institutional transformation from IAIN to UIN, which integrates religious and general sciences.
“We hope that in the future, with the Faculty of Science and Technology, scientists will emerge who possess strong religious knowledge, just like during the golden age of Islam,” he said.
On the other hand, Dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology at UIN SMH Banten, Hidayatullah, said that at six years old, the faculty is in the early phase of building a strong and characterful institutional foundation.
According to him, the faculty continues to strengthen various efforts so that it can become a center for excellent science development that benefits society.
“That is why, on this sixth anniversary, we deliberately celebrate it through various activities so that it becomes better known to the public,” he said.
This Dies Natalis event serves as a momentum to strengthen synergy between the academic world and the government in promoting the use of technology for more advanced and competitive regional development.
